HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?

Our typical lead time is only 2-3 business days for custom keyboards! Kits and parts typically go out next business day, depending on how much 3D printing is involved.

ARE CUSTOMS AND IMPORT FEES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Customs and other import fees are NOT included in the price and are the customer's responsibility upon entering the country. Check with your local government to determine what those fees are.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY PACKAGE?

Pre-built keyboards come ready out of the box with the options you selected. Everything should be functional for you to connect to your device easily and get typing! Your package will also contain a Quick Setup Guide to assist you in customizing your setup.

Kits include the base elements that make a functioning keyboard. These can be found on the specific kit products. Luxury items such as controller hotswap sockets are sold separately.

Hardware

HOW LONG WILL MY BATTERY LAST?

Our batteries are rated at 110 mAh which depending on what hardware you're running (i.e. LEDs, OLED screens, or neither) can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

HOW MUCH FLASH MEMORY DOES MY CONTROLLER HAVE?

Our Nice!Nano controllers have a flash memory of 1MB and RAM of 256 KB.

Our Pro-Micro C controllers have a flash memory of 32 KB and RAM of 2.5 KB.

WHAT MATERIAL ARE THE CASES MADE FROM?

We 3D print all of our cases using PLA.

WHAT KEYSWITCH SPACING IS USED ON MY BOARD?

Our Corne and Sofle keyboards all use MX spacing for both MX and Choc style switches.

Our Sweep Bling uses Choc spacing.

DOES MY KEYBOARD COME WITH HOMING KEYS?

All of our Low Profile blank keycaps have homing keys. You'll need to select primary keycaps on a low profile keyboard to have homing bumps included.

DOES MY KEYBOARD COME WITH RGB?

All models of our pre-built Corne and Sofle include RGB. Sweeps do not have RGB capabilities at this time.

RGB is optional for kits.

CAN I USE MY BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD WITH WIRES?

It is NOT recommended for bluetooth. Plugging in TRRS cables while the microcontrollers are powered on can cause a short and fry the controllers.

To use wired, plug both halves in to your device by a USB-C cable on each half.

Firmware

HOW DO I CUSTOMIZE MY KEYMAPPING?

All our wired keyboards ship with VIA preinstalled. Simply plug in your keyboard and head over to https://usevia.app for simple, point and click remapping of any key on your keyboard. All changes happen in real time; no need to compile code or reset your keyboard.

Our wireless keyboards ship with a firmware called ZMK, which supports text based keymapping updates and drag and drop firmware flashing. Find out more at https://zmk.dev/docs/user-setup

CAN I USE QMK TO CUSTOMIZE MY KEYBOARD INSTEAD OF VIA?

Sure thing! QMK offers you power beyond what VIA allows you. Simply create and flash your custom firmware following QMK's excellent docs found at https://docs.qmk.fm/#/newbs.

HOW CAN I CREATE A CUSTOM QMK KEYMAP?

QMK is really much easier to work with than it might seem. We recommend using a Windows or Mac computer, but if you're comfortable with the terminal, Linux will work as well. Check out the docs at https://docs.qmk.fm/#/newbs and you'll be up and running in no time!

HOW DO I GET MY KEYBOARD INTO BOOTLOADER MODE?

All our keyboards come with physical reset switches that will boot your keyboard into bootloader mode. Press it once for wired or double press for wireless. You'll only need to worry about this if you are getting into custom firmware though. You'll never need to reboot your keyboard if you stick with VIA (wired only)!

MY BLUETOOTH IS HAVING ISSUES CONNECTING?

Whether your halves are not connecting to each other or not connecting to the device, we recommend always starting with flashing a reset file. This should wipe any stored settings and allow you to start fresh. Next, you'll want to flash each half and pair the halves together by holding down both reset buttons for a few seconds. At this point, you should be safe to pair to your device.

HOW DO I FLASH MY KEYBOARD?

For custom QMK firmware, we highly recommend QMK Toolbox. You can find the download for QMK Toolbox at https://github.com/qmk/qmk_toolbox. Using QMK Toolbox, simply load your compiled hex file, select the MCU (Atmega32u4), put your keyboard into bootloader mode, and flash your loaded hex.

For Bluetooth, once you put your keyboard into bootloader mode, a window should pop up where you can drag and drop your uf2 file.

WHAT IF NOTHING IS WRONG BUT I WANT TO RETURN MY ORDER?

You can absolutely return your order for a refund but there is a restocking fee. See our Terms of Service for further details: https://keebmaker.com/pages/terms-of-service

CAN I SEND MY KEYBOARD BACK FOR REPAIR?

If your keyboard doesn't work as expected out of the box, KeebMaker LLC will ship the item back and repair or replace the item at no cost.

If an item is found to be damaged in any way other than from expected use, the customer will be responsible for shipping to/from and our contract rate of $40/hr. Most repairs can be done within 1-2 hours maximum.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

You can definitely cancel your order, but due to the custom nature of the product, we reserve the right to charge a 10% restocking fee if the order has already begun being manufactured.
